AN INTRODUCTION TO AGGREGATES, CRUSHING & SCREENING.
ABOUT THE COURSE
Terex Materials Processing, in conjunction with the Institute of Quarrying, are piloting a new personal development programme to help team members get a good grounding in all aspects of Crushing & Screening. The course will cover:
Introduction to Aggregates
Rock types, specifi cations and standards, quantities, sand and gravel, quality controls.
Washing and Primary Separation
Types of washing technology, sand and gravel plant layout, gravel separation and washing, sand extraction and de-watering.
Types of screen, arrangement of vibrating screens in the process plant, health, safety and environmental issues associated with screen installations.
Apron feeders, types of vibrating feeders.
Crushing theory and technology types, jaw, impact and cone crushers, health, safety and environmental issues, comparison of impact and compression primary crushers.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This pilot programme is a broad based course and is typically aimed at technical team members including engineering, sales and service related roles where an understanding of Crushing and Screening applications is essential.
HOW WILL THE COURSE BE RUN?
The course will be run on a distance learning basis and will take approximately 6 months to complete. Team members will cover 5 modules using state of the art online learning tools, including 2 classroom days at Terex NI sites and an assessment. The 5 modules are estimated to take approximately 50 hours.
Team members will be expected to commit an element of personal time in order to complete this course.
WHAT WILL I GET AT THE END?
At the end of the course you will get a certifi cate for 50 hours assessed continuing professional development from the Institute of Quarrying, as well as a Terex certifi cate in an Introduction to Aggregates, Crushing & Screening.
